Jayme's Wedding

On Saturday, Aug. 27. Brett and I left early for the drive to Seattle. We used to make this trip almost every weekend... How did we ever stand the traffic?! After some shopping stops and a quick visit with Grace... (MR Data's long time stellar employee) and her husband, Sam.... we changed into wedding appropriate attire and drove out to a hundred year old farm house for Jayme's wedding. It was a lovely day.

Gosh, we feel old! Jayme's father... is our age or younger. Here he walks her up the aisle. Jayme has been one of our favorite employees. She is finishing up her Master's Degree in Urban Planning. Her new husband is an engineer at Boeing.

A very proud father and radiant bride.

The location was French Creek Estates outside of Snohomish/Monroe. As the sun set... hot air balloons could be seen close by. The grounds were lovely for the outdoor wedding. The 1910 old farm mansion provided a place for the wedding party to prepare.

The weather cooperated and was lovely. The ceremony started at 6pm.

Introducing the couple. Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Simmons.

The wedding altar and unity candle. The Ghanaian unity table was a gift from a groomsman who had been in The Peace Corps.

After the ceremony, the Bride places her bouquet into a vase on the head table.

Lovely table settings, good food and thoughtful placement with table mates.

From Madison on the road...

Via Madison's phone camera... the stage set for The Rolling Stones. This view from the Red Sock's Dugout in Fenway Park. The video/led screens are obviously the big black middle...AND the middle sections inbetween the silver bars. We will have to get Madison to explain everything to us. He said they had to crane things over the "green monster".

100 years old this summer.

We are working hard on outside repairs this summer. The carriage house is the first to get a badly needed roof.... next the main house. We will start to paint...not sure how far we will get...and begin to put a wrap-around porch on and define a front door. But which door?

So many color choices. The original color is a butter cream yellow. (Just like the neighbors.) It was painted red in the 50s. Everyone has teal or green house...or a dull gray. I thought I liked the light historic green.... but it isn't good in this dreary foggy climate.

Which color to choose? The color we are now leaning toward is Miller Historic Paint Color. This photo is not completely accurate...but on the right...up from the bottom, rows 2 and 3 (not the bottom row)... is the color we are thinking is best. Lexington Blue. (a gray blue with tinge of green)

We are making a front wrap around porch and defining a new doorway. Later...another year...we will roof the porch. Imagine a new color on the house....with white trim.
